Boise Community Radio

Mission Statement

Radio Boise’s mission is to be “the voice of Boise and beyond: people-powered radio that inspires, informs, and builds community." We provide the Treasure Valley with an eclectic range of music and local cultural topics, which is reflective of the broad spectrum of ages, interests, professions, and histories found not only among our listeners, programmers, volunteers, and staff but within the Treasure Valley community as a whole.

As a nonprofit, community radio station, the majority of our funding comes from individuals, local businesses, and events. When you support Radio Boise, you support your community. You support bringing people together through the airwaves. You support a safe space to meet, to listen, to learn, and to grow. Idaho Gives is a chance to show your love and support for community radio. The funds we raise each year go directly to keeping our towers and transmitters running, to paying our hard working staff, to supporting our volunteer efforts, and to ensuring that we remain on the airwaves, providing your favorite programming day and night. You’re never alone with Radio Boise.

Objectives 2011

Boise Community Radio, Inc. was established in 2002 as southwestern Idaho’s only locally programmed, non-commercial community-based radio station. Continue an initiative to provide programming and promote its internet broadcast service, RadioBoise. Expand programming and promote democratic, accessible progressive Internet based broadcasting services by increasing community participation.

Objectives 2009

Serve as SW Idaho’s only locally programmed, non-commercial community-based radio station, bringing musical, cultural, entertainment and public affairs programming to the Treasure Valley.    Support production of 24 public service announcements that will help Idaho’s grassroots nonprofit organizations deliver their message about services or events on RadioBoise’s Internet broadcast and beyond.
