Information

Continue to hold the oil industry accountable and protect the civil and property rights, health and water of Idaho families living in the crosshairs of drilling activities across the Boise valley and around Idaho. Influence the city of Nampa to seek safer alternatives for discharge of municipal wastewater.

Defend regulations of oil and gas extraction against attempts to weaken them. Preserve local control and protections of water resources. Collaborate with other groups to expedite a faster transition to renewable energy as a deterrent to further leasing and drilling operations. Encourage adoption of model regulating ordinances in cities and counties most immediately in line for drilling. Keep pushing back against Snake River Oil & Gas Group and regulators who are threatening property owners with new spacing and integration orders of their minerals. Persist in educating the public and lawmakers about the risks of fracking and encourage legislators to draft bills that protect citizens, their property and the environment. Pursue grants and other funding sources to support continued legal challenges and develop outreach materials to educate the public and public officials. Increase memberships overall, and in our working group.
