Citizens for Smart Growth

Mission Statement

Citizens for Smart Growth works to preserve and strengthen our communities. We oppose sprawl and promote stable neighborhoods by encouraging the efficient use of land and natural resources. Citizens for Smart Growth is dedicated to preserving Blaine County's rural charm, air and water quality, open space and wildlife habitat. Citizens for Smart Growth promotes walkable communities and locally owned and operated business. We are the only local organization working on private land-use conservation through planning and zoning law.

Empower citizens to shape vibrant communities in balance with nature. Land development and population growth are threatening Blaine County, Idaho’s, quality of life. Citizens for Smart Growth’s outreach program will educate Blaine County residents about the Smart Growth Principles and engage them in the public process, empowering them to make decisions that support the best development patterns for the entire region.
