Mission Statement

PODER of Idaho organizes and empowers the Latinx and immigrant communities in Idaho for social, racial, gender, and economic justice. Our commitment, shared power, and cultural richness serve as pillars for our undeterred journey towards a more equitable world.

Information

Objectives 2020

Engage in work building power among marginalized immigrant communites. This includes: creating rapid response teams, builting leadership among immigrant and Latinz populations; continuing to inform the public about rapidly changing immigration laws and policies; and to build muscle at local, state, and national levels to promote policies and rule changes that benefit the immigrant community.

Objectives 2019

General support, including: Increase services related to board member leadership development and training; and staff and office space. Continue creating proactive lead health intervention with the Children Run Better Unleaded project to assure authorities are abiding by mandated Medicaid lead testing laws. Maintain a strong network coalition of environmental, church groups, medical and affected citizens, including Coeur d’Alene and Spokan tribes seeking environmental and human health justice.
