Mission Statement

The Sierra Club is America’s oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. The Idaho Chapter of the Sierra Club works to build a movement of engaged residents to promote the conservation of Idaho’s natural environment and climate. Our volunteer-driven campaigns are helping move Idaho cities, utilities, and school districts toward 100{c26b2cdaa54844935fe3e87f96cbe47fc488cd54936104a54835fc9f5b1a5c15} clean energy and advance regional efforts to remove the four lower Snake River dams to save Idaho's salmon and build a clean and equitable energy future in the Northwest.

Objectives 2020

Sustain movement-building work around climate action in Idaho. This includes: 1. Sustain our Ready for 100{c26b2cdaa54844935fe3e87f96cbe47fc488cd54936104a54835fc9f5b1a5c15} Clean Energy Campaign and expand grassroots organizing work to Ada, Moscow, Eagle, and Canyon Counties; 2. Host a 2019-2020 Idaho Climate Justice League program that engages 20 students in a 6-month campaign advocacy and leadership training program.
